Kupkari is believed to be one of the oldest equestrian games played till date. It is a very famous game amongst the people of Central Asia, and from the spectators' point of view, it is equivalent to Spanish bullfighting. Kupkari is usually held at holidays, weddings, in spring, autumn, before the opening of the farming season, after the harvest has been cut and with the due passage of time, it has grown into a modern sport with its own rules, clubs, federations, and competitions. The game is played with two teams consisting of six players each side where both the teams struggle for a goat's carcass known as 'ulak' (headless carcass) that in the end has to be thrown into "kazan" which is a circular shaped construction of bricks, concrete or even of large tyres.
